Tony Zanlungo is from Michigan, where he attended Hartland High School. Growing up, Tony enjoyed playing football, baseball, basketball, track and weightlifting. Tony’s true love was football receiving many awards playing for the Hartland Eagles. Tony earned a scholarship to play football at Ferris State University. After college he played in the Arena Football League and was a member of the 1992 Detroit Drive World Championship team.
Tony started his working career in the food service industry, where he worked at a family-owned restaurant. He began as a cook, quickly learning that he wanted to be where the action was – around the customers. He then worked as a waiter, bartender, and doorman; eventually moving his way to Manager and General Manager positions. Tony made the decision to leave the family business to become the General Manager of a 5 star restaurant bringing revenues and customer service to the highest quality in the Detroit area for many years. This restaurant is where he met a friend who was starting a business. Tony liked the concept and began to help build the company. They started with one location in 2001, and in just 6 years they built it to 220 locations nationwide. Tony was part of a team blessed by God; they sold the company in 2007, and it is still around today.
Tony moved to Scottsdale, Arizona, where he began his acting career and improving his golf game. Tony can be seen working with coach Andrew Getson, a former PGA Tour player, at Gray Hawk Golf Club in Scottsdale.
Tony’s acting career is taking off. He can be seen on The History Channel’s “Pawn Stars”, The Learning Channel’s “The Auctioneer$”, National Geographic’s pilot “Seized”. Tony is also seen in commercials for Blue Diamond Almonds and in a Doritos® and Pepsi MAX® Presents: Crash the Super Bowl “Dersey Shore”. Tony has had many roles in movies: Queens of Country (2011) – IMDb by Ryan Page and Christopher Pomerenke. The cast includes Lizzy Caplan, Ron Livingston, and Matt Walsh. Tony appeared in Crushed Velvet (2011) – IMDb by Brian Skiba, starring Laurie Love, Ron Jeremy, Davina Joy. Tony also appeared in the movie Soul Man.
